AC Milan Poised to Secure Liverpool Defender Joe Gomez in January

Joe Gomez`s limited playing time at Liverpool has caught the attention of AC Milan, who are reportedly preparing to make a renewed effort to sign the defender in the upcoming January transfer window.

According to reports, AC Milan are set to resume negotiations for the Liverpool center-back when the transfer market reopens. Sources suggest that the Rossoneri`s latest attempt is likely to be fruitful, given that Gomez has only featured for 119 minutes across all competitions this season.

Milan`s Continued Interest in Gomez

The Italian giants had previously initiated talks for Gomez towards the end of the summer transfer window but were unable to finalize a deal with the reigning Champions League winners. Despite signing 19-year-old David Odogu from Wolfsburg on deadline day, reports indicate that Milan`s manager, Massimiliano Allegri, is still keen on bolstering his defensive options for the latter half of the campaign.

Allegri`s Desire for Defensive Reinforcement

It is believed that Gomez remains a priority target for Milan`s sporting director, Igli Tare. The defender`s lack of game time at Liverpool this season is expected to facilitate negotiations between the two clubs during the winter transfer window.

However, Gomez is not the only player on Milan`s radar. The Serie A club is also exploring potential defensive reinforcements in France and Germany, demonstrating their commitment to meeting Allegri`s requirements for squad improvement.
