AC Milan Pursues Joao Felix Loan Deal Before Transfer Deadline
AC Milan is actively working to bring Joao Felix to the club on a loan agreement from Chelsea before the transfer window closes. However, the deal hinges on their ability to first transfer Noah Okafor to another team.
While the Rossoneri have already secured Santiago Gimenez from Feyenoord for €32 million plus bonuses, they are still in the market for a versatile attacking player who can provide both support as a striker and creativity on the wing.
Joao Felix has been a recurring name in Milan’s transfer discussions, with the possibility of a straight loan from Chelsea. Reports from Italian media suggest that Jorge Mendes, who represents both Felix and Milan coach Sergio Conceicao, is actively working to facilitate the move.
Challenges in Securing Joao Felix
The potential transfer faces several obstacles. Chelsea’s desire to include a purchase option in the loan agreement and Felix’s substantial €6 million annual salary are significant hurdles. Additionally, Milan’s attack is already crowded, even after Alvaro Morata’s departure to Galatasaray.
To make room for Felix, Milan is looking to move Noah Okafor, preferably to West Ham United or a Bundesliga club. The ideal arrangement would be a loan with an option to buy for €25 million, similar to the terms of a previously abandoned transfer to RB Leipzig.
As the February 3 deadline approaches, Milan remains hopeful of adding Joao Felix to their squad, but must navigate these challenges to complete the deal.
