AC Milan Sends Okafor to Napoli on Loan with Significant Purchase Option
AC Milan has officially announced the loan of Swiss forward Noah Okafor to Napoli. The deal includes a €1.5 million loan fee with an option for Napoli to make the transfer permanent for an additional €23.5 million at the end of the season.
This move comes as Napoli sought to reinforce their attacking options following the departure of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to Paris Saint-Germain. The club had previously pursued other targets such as Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi and Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho, but those efforts were unsuccessful.
Interestingly, Milan had initially arranged for Okafor to join RB Leipzig on loan, but that transfer fell through due to issues arising during the medical examination. With the transfer deadline approaching, Milan swiftly redirected Okafor to Napoli.
The 24-year-old Okafor, who joined Milan from RB Salzburg in the summer of 2023 for €15.5 million, struggled to make a significant impact at San Siro. In the current season, he managed only one goal and two assists in 17 appearances across all competitions.
This loan move to Napoli presents Okafor with a fresh opportunity to showcase his talents in Serie A and potentially secure a long-term future with the Partenopei, should they choose to exercise their purchase option at the conclusion of the loan period.
