AC Milan defender Emerson Royal has made his long-awaited return to team training following an extended absence due to a calf injury. The Brazilian right-back was warmly greeted by his fellow teammates as he rejoined the squad at Milanello training ground today.
Royal had been sidelined since late January with a calf problem that kept him out of competitive action for over two months. His last appearance for Milan came on January 22nd as a substitute in a Champions League fixture against Red Star Belgrade.
The club shared footage on social media of Royal`s return to the training pitch. In the video, one of his teammates can be seen playfully slapping the Brazilian on the back as the squad prepares to begin the session, highlighting the positive atmosphere surrounding his comeback.
The former Tottenham Hotspur player will now look to regain full fitness and push for a return to Milan`s starting lineup as the team enters a crucial stage of the season. His availability provides a welcome boost to manager Stefano Pioli`s defensive options going forward.
