adHoc Arena Crowned Best Stadium of 2024
StadiumDb has released its annual ranking of the world’s best stadiums for 2024. The top honor this year goes to the adHoc Arena in Jena, Germany, home to FC Carl Zeiss Jena of the German fourth division.
The newly renovated stadium, formerly known as Ernst Abbe Sportfield, underwent a €58 million transformation completed in 2024. The upgrades expanded its capacity to 15,000 spectators, meeting the minimum threshold for consideration in the rankings.
To qualify for the list, stadiums had to meet two key criteria:
- Minimum capacity of 15,000 spectators
- Opened or significantly renovated in 2024
Nearly 10,000 people participated in voting on 23 eligible stadiums. Notable contenders included the revamped Santiago Bernabéu, which secured second place in the rankings.

- Stade Hocine Aït Ahmed (Algeria) – 13,604 points
- Stade Ali la Pointe (Algeria) – 10,348 points
- Mâs Monumental (Buenos Aires, Argentina) – 7,966 points
The full list includes 23 stadiums from around the world, representing a diverse range of designs, capacities, and investment levels. From the €1.23 billion renovation of the Bernabéu to smaller projects like the €60.5 million adHoc Arena, the rankings showcase the global landscape of stadium development in 2024.
