Adrien Rabiot Confronts Offensive Banners and Criticizes PSG Leadership
Adrien Rabiot, now playing for Olympique de Marseille, returned to Parc des Princes for a match against his former club Paris Saint-Germain. The 29-year-old midfielder faced a hostile reception from PSG fans, including offensive chants and banners targeting him and his mother.
One particularly insulting banner read: “Loyalty for men, betrayal for whores – like mother, like son.” Rabiot, who left PSG six years ago, was booed throughout the game, which ended in a 3-1 loss for Marseille.
Véronique Rabiot, Adrien’s mother, expressed her dismay to France Info, questioning why the match wasn’t halted and why there wasn’t more outrage over the incident. She confirmed her intention to take legal action. The LFP’s disciplinary committee is set to review the case later this week.
Responding on social media, Adrien Rabiot stated, “Insulting a mother and a deceased father – there are consequences for such actions. Your path to heaven is not assured, believe me.” He then directed criticism at PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, saying, “Nasser, despite all your wealth, you cannot purchase class.”
As of now, PSG has not issued any statement regarding the banners and chants.
