Reports are emerging that Inter Milan`s head coach Simone Inzaghi may be seriously considering a substantial offer from Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal. The proposed deal, reportedly worth €30 million per season, has cast doubt on Inzaghi`s future with the Italian club.
While Al-Hilal`s interest in Inzaghi was previously known, it was initially assumed that both the coach and Inter would dismiss the approach. However, recent developments suggest that the situation is more complex than initially thought.
According to various Italian media outlets, both parties have agreed to postpone any decision until after Saturday`s Champions League Final against Paris Saint-Germain. There are even rumors of a clandestine meeting between Inzaghi and Al-Hilal`s President at a Milan hotel.
Inzaghi`s Inter Future Now Uncertain
Despite Inzaghi`s current contract with Inter running until June 2026, and the club`s president Beppe Marotta expressing intentions to extend it until 2027 with a salary increase to around €7 million per year, the Al-Hilal offer presents a significant financial temptation.
The Saudi club`s proposal, including various bonuses and benefits, would make Inzaghi the highest-paid coach in world football. Additionally, Al-Hilal is keen to have Inzaghi at the helm for the upcoming Club World Cup, a tournament in which Inter will also participate.
Since joining Inter in 2021, Inzaghi has achieved considerable success, winning one Serie A title, two Coppa Italia trophies, three Italian Super Cups, and reaching two Champions League Finals. This impressive track record has undoubtedly contributed to his attractiveness to potential suitors.
As the situation unfolds, all eyes will be on the outcome of the Champions League Final and the subsequent decision from both Inzaghi and Inter regarding his future with the club.
