Al-Nasr Cancels Deal for Bayer Leverkusen Striker Boniface
According to insider Fabrizio Romano, the proposed transfer of Bayer Leverkusen’s forward Victor Boniface to Al-Nasr has been called off. Despite initial agreements, the Saudi Arabian club ultimately decided not to proceed with the acquisition.
The deal was reportedly in its final stages before Al-Nasr unexpectedly withdrew their approval for the transfer. This development comes as a surprise, considering Bayer Leverkusen’s head coach Xabi Alonso had previously confirmed ongoing negotiations between the two clubs regarding Boniface’s potential move.
Interestingly, this news follows a recent report by The Athletic suggesting that Al-Nasr was prepared to pay €77 million for Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran, indicating the club’s active pursuit of attacking reinforcements.
The 24-year-old Nigerian forward Boniface has been in impressive form this season, netting 8 goals in 15 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen. His current contract with the German club runs until the summer of 2028. According to Transfermarkt, Boniface’s market value is estimated at €45 million.
