FC Nantes has reintegrated Alban Lafont, 26, and Fabien Centonze, 29, into their team following the closure of the winter transfer window. Despite being listed for transfer, neither player finalized a move before Monday’s deadline.
Manager Antoine Kombouaré commented last week on their return, stating, “We did everything to help him find a new club, but that didn’t happen. We welcome him back with pleasure. He needs to get back in line and work as usual.”
Lafont, previously the preferred goalkeeper for Nantes, was replaced by Patrik Calgren, 33, earlier this season. The signing of veteran Anthony Lopes, 34, from Olympique Lyonnais in December further pushed Lafont down the pecking order.
Centonze has been largely absent this Ligue 1 season due to a cruciate ligament injury, making only two appearances for Nantes in the 2024-25 campaign. After featuring in 23 Ligue 1 matches in 2022-23, Centonze has only played in a total of five league games since. He spent part of the 2023-2024 season on loan at Hellas Verona in Italy’s Serie A.
