Alex Jimenez: “I Love Milan, Real Madrid Was a Difficult Period”

Speaking to official Milan channels, young defender Alex Jimenez, born in 2005, shared his story: “Real Madrid called me when I was seven years old after noticing me in a city tournament, and I stayed there for eleven years. I saw many champions there, and training with the first team was a truly happy moment. I saw Kroos, Vinicius, Militao, who surprised me the most.”

MOVE TO MILAN – “I was going through a difficult time at Real. My family and my agent advised me to change, and when Milan came forward, I didn’t think twice. I love Milan; it’s a team that will always be in my heart for giving me my first-team debut. I can’t describe in words what this club means to me. I love everything about Milan.”

DEBUT – “It was one of the best days of my life, and I will always be grateful to Mister Pioli for the trust he placed in me. Before the match against Cagliari, I was a bit nervous on the bus because I already knew I would be starting. In the locker room, however, I told myself to do what I know how to do, and in the end, I played well. After the match, I remember asking Theo for his shirt; he is my idol and is helping me a lot with his advice. He is a top player and a top person.”

RELATIONSHIP WITH FONSECA AND CONCEICAO – “Both gave me confidence. Fonseca put me on the field in a difficult moment against Genoa, on the 125th anniversary of Milan’s foundation. For me, it was a happy moment, for the club a little less so. It was a pity not to win that night.”

SUPER CUP – “Conceicao immediately put me in the starting lineup against Juventus, and I thought, ‘How can he put me on the field with all the players here?’ Instead, the coach trusted me from the first moment. I really like him as a coach, for his ideas and his manner. I thank him.”

VICTORY AGAINST INTER – “At the end of the first half, we were 0-0, but from my misplaced pass, we conceded a goal. Then in the second half, we conceded the second. When I was substituted, I sat on the bench cheering because I wanted to win at all costs. When we scored the first goal, I had the feeling that we would win that match. Then there were the second and third goals, and I burst with joy. I hugged Leao because he had changed the game.”

SPANISH NATIONAL TEAM – “I am waiting for my moment. For me, it would be a dream to play for Spain.”
