The President of the Russian Premier League (RPL), Alexander Alaev, has provided insights into the interactions between the RPL and La Liga.
When questioned about the possibility of collaboration with La Liga, Alaev responded cautiously. He emphasized the significance of hosting a high-profile speaker like Jaime Blanco from La Liga, considering it a notable achievement. Alaev stated that through such events, they are gradually building relationships with their counterparts in other leagues and with UEFA.
He mentioned that he prefers to refrain from public comments on the specifics at this moment, citing the delicate and complex nature of the ongoing process. However, Alaev affirmed that this work is actively being pursued, and positive outcomes are already visible, with plans to continue advancing in this direction.
Regarding the potential outcomes, Alaev expressed optimism that these efforts would contribute to the return of Russian teams and the national team to international competitions, aligning with the expectations voiced by UEFA representatives at the RFS Conference. He conveyed a commitment to steadily pave the way and accelerate their progress towards reintegration into the international football system.
Earlier, Jaime Blanco, the Club Office Director of La Liga, had spoken about areas where the RPL has surpassed the Spanish Championship.
