Alexander Mostovoi Reveals Internship Offers from Spanish Clubs
Alexander Mostovoi, the former Russian midfielder who played for Celta Vigo, has disclosed that he has received multiple invitations for internships from his former club.
Mostovoi, along with other ex-Russian national team players like Andrei Arshavin, Yuri Zhirkov, and Dmitri Sychev, completed a coaching course at the Russian Football Union (RFU) academy from May 2023 to November 2024. During his training, Mostovoi interned at Dynamo Moscow.
“Currently, I don’t have any job offers because our entire group is waiting for the final decision on our licensing, which is likely to happen in February,” Mostovoi explained. “There haven’t been any discussions about potential positions yet, as all teams are currently in training camps. However, you know that inviting Mostovoi is considered a risk.”
When asked about internship opportunities with Spanish clubs, Mostovoi revealed, “I frequently receive messages and calls from Celta, inviting me to come whenever I want for as long as I wish. Alaves has also extended a couple of invitations.”
Mostovoi played for Celta Vigo from 1996 to 2004, winning the Spanish Cup with the club. The 56-year-old Russian is also known for his stints with Spartak Moscow, Benfica, Caen, Strasbourg, and Alaves.
