Aliadiere Urges Arsenal to Pursue Liverpool Striker Over Isak
As the summer transfer window approaches, Arsenal supporters are eager for the club to acquire a new striker. While Newcastle’s Alexander Isak has been a popular target, former Gunner Jeremie Aliadiere believes Arsenal should instead pursue Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez.
In an exclusive interview with Football FanCast, Aliadiere expressed his admiration for Nunez, stating: “I’ve always been a fan of Darwin Nunez. I appreciate his work ethic and believe there’s a talented goalscorer within him. He just needs consistent playing time to build confidence and reach his full potential.”
Nunez joined Liverpool in 2022 for £85 million but has struggled with inconsistency, scoring just 7 goals in 42 appearances this season. However, Aliadiere remains convinced of the Uruguayan’s abilities:
“Arsenal have long needed a player like Nunez – someone who constantly makes runs behind the defense and can press with energy. If he became available, I’d love to see him at the Emirates.”
While Isak remains a top target for Arsenal, his reported £150 million price tag could make a deal difficult. Nunez may prove to be a more attainable option, though questions remain about whether manager Mikel Arteta could maximize the forward’s potential.
As Arsenal looks to strengthen their attack this summer, Aliadiere’s endorsement of Nunez provides an intriguing alternative to pursue. The coming transfer window will reveal whether the Gunners heed this advice or continue their pursuit of other targets.
