Allegri Reflects on Milan’s Tactical Shift and Transfer Uncertainties

Following AC Milan`s 2-0 victory over Lecce, coach Massimiliano Allegri shared insights on the team`s tactical adjustments and addressed the uncertain futures of several players. The win was crucial for Milan to climb up the league table and recover from their previous defeat to Cremonese.

Allegri emphasized the importance of earning points through hard work and humility, stating, “We don`t win just because we`re wearing the Milan jersey.” He praised the team`s patience and respect shown during the match.

Tactical Changes and New Signings

The coach implemented a 3-5-2 formation, which at times resembled a 3-6-1 with Alexis Saelemaekers dropping deeper. Allegri explained this change was aimed at achieving better balance and coverage on the pitch.

Regarding new signing Christopher Nkunku, Allegri admitted uncertainty about how to utilize him best, acknowledging the player`s quality but stressing the need to maintain team balance.

Transfer Market Uncertainties

Allegri revealed he deliberately avoided discussions about potential transfers for Santiago Gimenez and Yunus Musah before the match to maintain focus. He stated, “I don`t want to know anything about the transfer market in that situation, it already caused some trouble last week.”

The coach expressed confidence in the club`s ability to make decisions that will enhance Milan`s competitiveness, emphasizing the importance of consistent performances from the current squad.
