American Winger Emmanuel Sabbi Transfers to Vancouver Whitecaps from Le Havre
Vancouver Whitecaps, a Major League Soccer (MLS) team, has secured the services of 27-year-old American winger Emmanuel Sabbi from French Ligue 1 club Le Havre AC. Sabbi has committed to a two-year contract with the Canadian outfit.
The one-time U.S. Men’s National Team player joined Le Havre in mid-2023 for €1 million from Danish side Odense. During his tenure with the French club, Sabbi made 16 appearances across all competitions this season, though only seven were starts. Despite his playing time, he did not record any goals or assists.
Throughout his entire stint at Le Havre, Sabbi featured in 49 matches, netting five goals and providing one assist. He now returns to North America in a deal worth €1 million. His departure comes at a challenging time for Le Havre, as the team faces relegation concerns under manager Didier Digard. The club has struggled this season, securing only five victories in 21 games and currently occupying a position in the relegation zone with a mere 17 points.
