Amir Murillo Commits to Marseille with Contract Extension

Olympique Marseille has officially announced that Michael Amir Murillo will remain with the club until 2028, having extended his contract. This confirmation follows earlier reports suggesting the contract extension was imminent. Murillo’s previous agreement was set to expire in 2026.

Since his arrival in the summer of 2023 from RSC Anderlecht, the right-back has thrived under manager Roberto De Zerbi’s guidance. He has established himself as a crucial member of the team and a consistent presence in the starting lineup.

However, his season faced a setback last weekend when he sustained a hamstring injury during Marseille’s 2-0 victory against FC Nantes. This injury is expected to sideline him for several weeks, likely preventing him from participating in the upcoming match against RC Lens on Saturday.

Following the Lens game, Marseille is scheduled to play against Paris Saint-Germain in the season’s final Le Classique derby. In their previous encounter this season, Marseille suffered a 3-0 defeat at home in October.
