Amorim targets Premier League talent to strengthen Manchester United defense
According to recent reports, Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has set his sights on Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Rayan Ait-Nouri as a potential solution to the team’s left-back problems. With Luke Shaw sidelined due to injury and Tyrell Malacia struggling to impress since returning from knee surgery, Amorim is keen to bring in a new first-choice left-back.
Ait-Nouri, 23, has been a standout performer for Wolves this season, contributing three goals and five assists in 20 Premier League appearances. Former Wolves manager Gary O’Neil praised the Algerian international, describing him as “extremely talented” and highlighting his versatility on the pitch.
The potential move for Ait-Nouri could be facilitated by the sale of Malacia, who has reportedly attracted interest from Italian giants Juventus. Amorim sees Ait-Nouri as an upgrade over Shaw and believes he could provide a long-term solution to United’s left-back position.
Premier League legend Dion Dublin has also expressed admiration for Ait-Nouri, suggesting that Wolves fans may be concerned about losing the talented defender to a bigger club. As Manchester United looks to strengthen their squad and address key weaknesses, the pursuit of Ait-Nouri could prove to be a shrewd move in the upcoming transfer window.
