Ancelotti Comments on Bellingham’s Red Card in Match Against Osasuna

Real Madrid’s head coach Carlo Ancelotti has shared his thoughts on the controversial dismissal of midfielder Jude Bellingham during their 1-1 draw against Osasuna in the 24th round of La Liga.

The 23-year-old English player received a straight red card following an exchange with the referee at the end of the first half. Ancelotti believes there was a misunderstanding that led to the harsh decision.

“I think the referee misinterpreted the English words,” Ancelotti explained. “Bellingham said ‘it’s a foul,’ not an expletive. The referee made a mistake in his understanding.”

Despite the draw, Real Madrid (51 points) continues to hold the top spot in La Liga. However, they risk losing their lead if Atletico Madrid (49 points) secures a victory against Celta Vigo in their upcoming match.
