Ancelotti Reflects on Real Madrid’s Draw with Atletico

Real Madrid’s head coach Carlo Ancelotti shared his thoughts on the 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid in the 23rd round of La Liga.

“We dominated the second half completely, showing more intensity. The first half was different, much slower. The penalty situation affected the team. Before that, we played too slowly, but in the second half, we expanded our game, with Vinicius and Rodrygo creating many dangerous moments,” Ancelotti explained.

He continued, “The team performed well, everyone made sacrifices, and the players managed to equalize in a very difficult match. Atletico defended and counterattacked, they were very good defensively. Tchouameni had an excellent game, and we were close to victory.”

Ancelotti added, “The second half went well, but the team is disappointed because they feel they deserved to win. We were close to victory, but we should be happy. We’re still leading the table after a tense week, and now we have a calmer period until Tuesday.”

Following this match, Real Madrid leads the league table with 50 points, while Atletico Madrid is second with 49 points. Barcelona, with a game in hand, sits in third place with 45 points.
