Marko Arnautovic has announced his departure from Inter Milan as his contract expires at the end of June. Despite leaving, the veteran striker remains optimistic about the club`s future, predicting they will clinch the Serie A title in the 2025-26 season.
Arnautovic is among several Inter players whose contracts are set to expire on June 30, 2025, including Joaquin Correa and Raffaele Di Gennaro. Stefan De Vrij`s contract is also ending, though he has an option for a 12-month extension.
The experienced forward confirmed his exit from Inter after a brief two-year return to San Siro. Arnautovic had previously played for the Nerazzurri on loan as a young player in the 2009-10 season.
Arnautovic`s Parting Words and Prediction
“My time at Inter has come to an end. I won`t be there anymore. I wish Chivu all the best, and I believe they will be champions next season,” Arnautovic stated regarding his departure from the Nerazzurri on Sunday, as reported by Sky Sport Italia.
Inter`s 2024-25 campaign ended without trophies, despite being in contention for a treble in April. They finished second in Serie A, just one point behind Napoli, lost to rivals Milan in the Coppa Italia semi-final, and suffered a 5-0 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final.
Following these disappointments, head coach Simone Inzaghi has left to take charge of Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal. Former Inter defender Cristian Chivu is set to take over as the new manager.
