Arsenal Considering Surprise Move for £50m+ Premier League Forward
According to reports from France, Arsenal are exploring the possibility of signing Chelsea striker Christopher Nkunku this summer. The French forward is reportedly determined to leave Stamford Bridge after falling out of favor under manager Enzo Maresca.
Nkunku, who joined Chelsea for £52 million, has struggled to make an impact in the Premier League, scoring just 3 goals in 27 appearances this season. However, the 27-year-old had an impressive record at his previous club RB Leipzig, netting 70 goals and providing 55 assists in 172 matches.
The striker is said to be keen on joining a Champions League club, which could make Arsenal an attractive destination. However, the Gunners may face competition from Bayern Munich, who have also expressed interest in the player.
While Nkunku’s versatility and previous success in the Bundesliga make him an intriguing target, Arsenal may have reservations about pursuing a player who has struggled to adapt to the Premier League. The north London club is also considering other striking options, including Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo and Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres.
As the summer transfer window approaches, it remains to be seen whether Arsenal will make a serious move for Nkunku or focus on alternative targets to bolster their attacking options for the upcoming season.
