Arsenal Determined to Secure £99m Deal for “World-Class” International Teammates

Arsenal are aiming to finalize the signings of two international teammates this summer, with a prepared package totaling £99m, according to reports.

Arsenal Planning for the Summer

Following calls for a new striker after the January transfer window, Arsenal are actively pursuing forward options. Their decision not to sign a striker in January might have impacted their Premier League title challenge.

Consequently, efforts to bring in a new striker are underway at the Emirates Stadium. Recent updates suggest Arsenal are leading Manchester United in the pursuit of Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.

Alexander Isak is another player on Mikel Arteta’s radar. However, his transfer from Newcastle United could be expensive. FC Porto’s Samu Aghehowa is considered a more affordable alternative.

While a striker is a priority, Arteta also wants to strengthen the team with a new winger and central midfielder. Reports from Spain indicate a potential move for two international teammates.

According to Spanish sources, Arsenal are preparing a €120m (£99m) package to sign Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi and Athletic Club’s Nico Williams, allocating £49.5m for each player.

To finance these moves, some departures may be necessary. Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli are reportedly potential candidates to leave.

Arsenal Need Attacking Depth

It seems unusual to suggest Martinelli or Trossard might leave, as Arteta needs more attacking options to compete for the Premier League title next season.

Bukayo Saka’s absence has been keenly felt, with young Ethan Nwaneri stepping in. Injuries to Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz have also left Arsenal short of strikers during a crucial part of the season.

While Nico Williams is praised as ‘world-class’ by journalist Zach Lowy, and could be a valuable addition, Arsenal should avoid selling current forwards to fund his transfer.

Kieran Tierney has also described Zubimendi as ‘world-class’, indicating Arsenal are targeting high-quality players. However, signing a striker remains a top priority.

Osimhen’s release clause dropping to £62m is a significant opportunity for Arsenal to acquire a top striker without exceeding their budget. His impressive goalscoring record suggests he could be the missing piece for the team.
