Arsenal Eye £59 Million Move for Inter Milan Forward Marcus Thuram
Arsenal are reportedly preparing a £59 million bid for Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram as they look to bolster their attacking options. The Gunners have been forced into the transfer market after losing Gabriel Jesus to a long-term knee injury.
Thuram has been in excellent form this season, scoring 14 goals and providing 6 assists in 26 appearances for Inter. The French international joined the Italian club last summer from Borussia Monchengladbach.
According to reports, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta views Thuram as his “dream” signing. However, Inter are unlikely to sell their star forward in January, meaning any move would likely have to wait until the summer transfer window.
The 27-year-old Thuram has earned high praise from former teammates and coaches. Ex-Gladbach colleague Denis Zakaria described him as “crazy” but “phenomenal” on the pitch. Wolfsburg sporting director Marcel Schäfer called Thuram a “world class striker”.
With his combination of size, speed, strength and clinical finishing, Thuram could provide the goalscoring threat Arsenal are desperately seeking. The Gunners have struggled for consistency up front this season, with summer signing Kai Havertz yet to fully convince as a central striker.
While a January move appears unlikely, Arsenal’s reported willingness to spend big on Thuram shows their intent to secure a top-class forward. The Frenchman’s prolific form for Inter suggests he could be the solution to Arsenal’s attacking woes if a deal can be reached in the future.
