Arsenal Eye Move for High-Earning Striker Potentially Leaving Saudi Club

Arsenal have emerged as surprise contenders to sign former Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino, who is reportedly considering terminating his contract with Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli. The Gunners are said to be positioning themselves to potentially bring the Brazilian back to the Premier League.

Firmino, 33, currently earns an astounding £302,000 per week at Al-Ahli. Despite scoring 10 goals and providing 5 assists this season, he was recently left out of the club’s league squad in favor of new signing Galeno, casting doubt on his future there.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is dealing with a shortage of attacking options as the Gunners continue their Premier League title chase. The club failed to sign a striker in January after having a bid for Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins rejected.

If Firmino were to join Arsenal, he would likely need to accept a significant pay cut. However, the prospect of returning to English football and joining a title contender could appeal to the experienced forward.

While signing Firmino would be an unexpected move, his goal-scoring ability and Premier League experience could provide a useful boost to Arsenal’s attack as they aim to win their first league title in 21 years. The Gunners currently trail leaders Liverpool but have an opportunity to close the gap in their upcoming fixtures.
