Arsenal Eyeing Move for £60m Premier League Striker in January Window
Arsenal are reportedly considering a move for a Premier League forward when the January transfer window opens, as manager Mikel Arteta and the club’s recruitment team prepare for potential new additions.
Speaking at a recent press conference, Arteta suggested Arsenal could bring in reinforcements for the second half of the season. With injuries to key attackers Bukayo Saka and Raheem Sterling, the club is said to be targeting a versatile wide player to bolster their attacking options and help maintain their title challenge.
Arsenal have also been linked with signing a new striker, with Arteta not ruling out spending in January. Brighton forward Evan Ferguson has emerged as a potential loan target, with the Irish international currently struggling for regular starts.
Valued at around £60 million for a permanent deal, Brighton are reportedly open to loaning out Ferguson in January. Arsenal could look to take advantage of this opportunity to bring in the highly-rated young striker on a temporary basis.
Reliable journalist Ben Jacobs told supporters to “keep an eye on” Arsenal potentially signing Ferguson on loan, suggesting it is a real possibility. He noted Ferguson was previously on Arsenal’s radar when playing regularly for Brighton, but his price tag then was estimated at £80-100 million.
Arsenal legend Ian Wright has previously praised Ferguson for his composure and intelligence at a young age. The temporary addition of the Brighton striker could provide a boost to Arsenal’s attacking options as they look to maintain their Premier League title challenge in the second half of the season.
