Arsenal’s Next England Star: A Hidden Gem Beyond Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly

Arsenal’s Next England Star: A Hidden Gem Beyond Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly

While international breaks can be uneventful for fans, Arsenal supporters have reason to be excited this time. The club’s latest academy prospect, Myles Lewis-Skelly, surprisingly made his England debut last week, even starting in Friday’s match.

As Arsenal fans have come to expect, the teenage sensation looked comfortable playing at the senior level and even scored his first goal for England. This impressive start to his international career bodes well for the young star’s future.

However, there may be an even more exciting talent emerging from Hale End. Another promising prospect appears destined to become Arsenal’s youngest ever England international, and it’s not Ethan Nwaneri.

Arsenal’s History of Young England Internationals

Arsenal has a track record of producing young talents who represent England at the senior level. The most notable example is Theo Walcott, who made his England debut in May 2006 at just 17 years and 75 days old, making him the youngest Arsenal player to appear for England’s senior team – for now.

Jack Wilshere is the third youngest Gunner to play for England, debuting at 18 years and 222 days old in August 2010. Despite early promise, injuries unfortunately cut short what could have been an illustrious career.

Arsenal’s Next England Star

While Ethan Nwaneri is expected to make his England debut soon, at 18 years old he can’t break the record for Arsenal’s youngest England player. However, 15-year-old Max Dowman certainly could.

Despite his young age, Dowman has already been training with Arsenal’s first team. He’s thriving with the U18s, scoring 6 goals and providing 7 assists in 18 games this season. He became the youngest player to score in a UEFA Youth League match and has even made an appearance for the U21s.

Described as “the best 15-year-old in the country” by Declan Rice and the “most exciting” teenage talent since Lamine Yamal by scout Jacek Kulig, Dowman’s rapid development suggests he could break Walcott’s record and become Arsenal’s youngest ever England international in the near future.
