AS Monaco Extends Contract of Talented Belgian Youth International Samuel Nibombe
AS Monaco has successfully secured the long-term future of promising Belgian defender Samuel Nibombe. The 17-year-old youth international has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the Principality club until the summer of 2027.
Nibombe, who joined Monaco from Charleroi in 2023, has yet to make his first-team debut but has already caught the eye of club officials. The young center-back has been training with the senior squad and has played a key role in Monaco’s UEFA Youth League campaign this season, featuring in six matches.
Standing out for his imposing physical presence, Nibombe has represented Belgium at various youth levels from U15 to U18. He currently captains the U18 side, where he has earned four caps. Monaco’s decision to extend Nibombe’s contract underscores their belief in his potential, as he is considered one of the most exciting prospects to emerge from the club’s renowned La Diagonale academy.
With his future now secured, Nibombe will set his sights on following in the footsteps of recent academy graduates like Eliesse Ben Seghir, Maghnes Akliouche, and Soungoutou Magassa, who have successfully transitioned from the Groupe Élite youth setup to the first team. The young Belgian’s development will be closely watched as he aims to make his mark on senior football in the coming seasons.
