AS Monaco’s Lucas Michal Set for Contract Extension
AS Monaco is reportedly close to securing a contract extension for promising young forward Lucas Michal. The 19-year-old French talent, who has been integrated into the first-team setup this season, is expected to sign a new deal that will keep him at the Principality club until 2029.
Michal, a France U20 international, has already made seven appearances for Monaco’s first team this season, showcasing his potential. He has also featured in six UEFA Youth League matches, scoring once. His current contract is set to expire in 2026, but the club is keen to lock down his services for an additional three years.
This move follows AS Monaco’s pattern of investing in young talent. Earlier, the club extended the contract of 18-year-old Joan Tincres before loaning him to SC Amiens. The Principality club has been active in both developing homegrown talents and making strategic moves in the transfer market, recently bringing in Mika Biereth and Moatasem Al-Murati while selling academy product Eliot Matazo.
By securing Michal’s future, AS Monaco continues to demonstrate its commitment to nurturing young players and building a strong foundation for long-term success in French and European football.
