Aston Villa Confident of Staging Champions League Comeback Against PSG
Following a 3-1 defeat in Paris, Aston Villa face an uphill battle in their Champions League quarter-final tie against Paris Saint-Germain. However, the English club remains hopeful of a turnaround at home.
Villa forward Morgan Rogers expressed the team’s unwavering belief: “There’s tremendous confidence within our squad. While many dismissed our chances before the tie began, we proved our mettle in the away leg.” Rogers had initially put Villa ahead in Paris before PSG rallied with goals from Doué, Kvaratskhelia, and Mendes.
Rogers added, “If any team can mount a comeback, it’s us. We’re eager to embrace this challenge.” Villa manager Unai Emery, who previously coached PSG, is counting on the home crowd’s support. “I’ve experienced both successful and unsuccessful comebacks. This situation is unique. We aim to make history with Aston Villa. We must harness the energy of Villa Park as our fortress, as we’ve done many times before. We must believe,” Emery stated.
The return leg at Villa Park promises to be a thrilling encounter as the home side attempts to overturn the two-goal deficit and advance to the Champions League semi-finals.
