Aston Villa’s £120k-a-week Player Open to Summer Transfer

A recent report suggests that one of Aston Villa’s top-paid players is considering leaving the club this summer due to limited playing opportunities.

Villa’s Attacking Force Propels Top-5 Push

Despite their Champions League exit, Aston Villa are on an impressive run, winning 10 of their last 11 matches across all competitions. Their most recent triumph was a convincing win over in-form Newcastle United at home.

Villa’s success can be largely attributed to their potent attacking lineup, with Ollie Watkins, Marcus Rashford, Marco Asensio, and Donyell Malen all playing crucial roles in recent months. Asensio, on loan from PSG, has been particularly impressive since joining in January, contributing five goals and four assists for Unai Emery’s side.

Leon Bailey Drawing Interest from Other Clubs

While Villa’s attack flourishes, Leon Bailey has struggled for regular playing time this season. The Jamaican winger, who joined from Bayer Leverkusen in 2021, has started only 14 Premier League games this term, partly due to injuries.

Reports suggest that Bailey, who earns £120,000 per week, may be open to leaving Villa Park if the right offer comes in. Multiple clubs are reportedly interested in acquiring his services.

While Bailey would prefer to stay and compete for his place under Emery, he is willing to consider offers from interested parties if regular minutes seem unlikely. Since joining Villa, Bailey has scored 22 goals and provided 24 assists in 142 appearances – a decent return for a player who cost around £30 million.

Despite occasional inconsistency, Bailey has shown flashes of brilliance during his time at Villa Park. A notable moment came in Villa’s 3-1 Champions League victory over Club Brugge in March, where he scored within three minutes of kickoff.
