Following the departure of striker Mateo Retegui to Saudi Arabian club Al-Qadsiah for a reported €65 million, Atalanta is actively seeking a replacement. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Everton forward Beto has emerged as one of the candidates on the Italian club`s shortlist.
The 27-year-old Guinea-Bissau international, who previously played for Udinese, is joined by Napoli`s Giacomo Raspadori and Red Bull Salzburg`s Adam Daghim as potential targets for Atalanta. Last season, Beto contributed 8 goals in 30 Premier League appearances for Everton, with an additional 2 goals in cup competitions.
Atalanta`s search for attacking reinforcements extends beyond the striker position. The club is also eyeing Strasbourg`s Diego Moreira as a possible replacement for Ademola Lookman, should the Nigerian complete a rumored move to Inter Milan. Moreira, traditionally a left-winger, has recently adapted to play in a more defensive role.
While Atalanta`s primary focus remains on securing a new striker, the club is also considering Genk forward Tolu Arokodare as another option to bolster their attacking lineup.
