According to reports from Sky Sport Italia, Atalanta has expressed interest in Fiorentina`s young defender Pietro Comuzzo, who recently declined a substantial €35 million offer from Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal.
The 20-year-old center-back, a product of Fiorentina`s youth academy, was approached by former Inter coach Simone Inzaghi to join him in Saudi Arabia. Despite the attractive financial package, Comuzzo opted to remain in Italy.
Atalanta, having learned of Fiorentina`s willingness to accept such a significant bid, is now considering making a similar offer. The Bergamo-based club, which will compete in the Champions League this season, may prove a more appealing destination for the young defender.
It remains uncertain whether Atalanta will match the €30 million plus €5 million in add-ons that Al-Hilal proposed. However, this potential move could materialize in the closing days of the transfer window.
Comuzzo, who turned 20 in February, has rapidly progressed through Fiorentina`s ranks to become a regular in the senior squad. His contract with the Viola was recently extended until June 2029, underlining the club`s faith in his potential.
As the transfer deadline approaches, all eyes will be on Atalanta to see if they make a formal bid for the promising defender, potentially setting up an intriguing Serie A transfer saga.
