Atalanta’s Injury Crisis: Gasperini Loses Multiple Players
Atalanta is currently experiencing a difficult period with multiple injuries affecting the team. Coach Gian Piero Gasperini is facing a challenging situation as several key players are sidelined.
The club recently announced that Gianluca Scamacca has suffered a new injury. During the match against Torino, he sustained a lesion in the musculotendinous junction of his right rectus femoris. This injury could keep him out of action for two to four months.
In addition to Scamacca’s absence, Atalanta will also have to cope without Marco Carnesecchi and Sead Kolasinac. On Monday, February 3rd, the results of medical examinations for both the Bosnian defender and the young goalkeeper were released, along with their expected recovery times.
Kolasinac, formerly of Arsenal and Marseille, has been diagnosed with a first-degree lesion in his right biceps femoris. This injury is expected to keep him off the field for 15-20 days.
As for Carnesecchi, who experienced discomfort during the warm-up before the Torino match, he has suffered a low-grade fascial lesion of the right long adductor. The Italian national team goalkeeper is anticipated to be out for approximately two weeks.
These multiple injuries present a significant challenge for Gasperini and Atalanta as they navigate through their upcoming fixtures.
