Atalanta’s Retegui Doubtful for Lecce Match Due to Muscle Fatigue
Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini faces a potential setback ahead of the home fixture against Lecce. Serie A’s top scorer Mateo Retegui is questionable for Sunday evening’s rescheduled match, which was postponed from Friday due to a bereavement affecting the Lecce team.
Recent reports indicate that the Italian national team striker has experienced fatigue in his right thigh flexor muscle. Although minor, this issue could force him to sit out tomorrow evening’s game. Atalanta’s medical staff, in consultation with Gasperini, has scheduled comprehensive examinations to assess Retegui’s condition and determine his availability for the match against Marco Giampaolo’s side.
The Atalanta coach will announce the squad list tomorrow morning. However, the former Genoa forward’s participation in the game against Giampaolo’s Lecce remains highly uncertain. Only after the routine medical tests will it become clear whether Retegui will be available for Atalanta’s selection.
