Atletico Madrid Fans Arrested for Vandalism After Match

Spanish authorities have apprehended 16 individuals for disorderly conduct near Atletico Madrid’s home stadium, the Metropolitano, following a La Liga match between Atletico and Getafe (1-0) on Sunday, December 15th.

According to reports, after the game, a group of 16 people aged 16 to 25, wearing Atletico Madrid attire, stormed a nearby Chinese market. They shattered glass displays and threatened the owner and other customers. It is believed they were searching for rival fan groups. The incident involved approximately 50 people in total.

The arrested youths face charges of disturbing public order, property damage, and illegal entry. Law enforcement is continuing its investigation, attempting to determine if the detainees are members of an official fan club and which supporter group they may belong to.

This incident highlights the ongoing issues of football-related violence and the challenges faced by authorities in maintaining public safety around sporting events.
