Augello: Dimarco is Serie A’s Top Left-Back, Coming from a Milan Fan

Cagliari’s left-back Tommaso Augello recently shared his thoughts in a comprehensive interview. He described his playing style, saying, “As a full-back in a four-man defense, I prefer attacking to defending. The most enjoyable part for me is crossing the ball.”

Regarding his national team ambitions, Augello stated, “Everyone dreams of it, but my primary focus is staying in Serie A, hopefully with Cagliari. I’m open to renewing my contract.” When asked about Cagliari’s surprise player, he mentioned, “Felici. He’s got quality, spark, and determination. He can make it. I also consider Zappa like a brother.”

Interestingly, when questioned about the best full-back in Serie A, Augello, despite being a Milan fan, named Inter’s Federico Dimarco.

On the topic of avoiding relegation, Augello expressed confidence: “I believe we’ll manage it. It wasn’t easy for our manager after Ranieri, but it’s a targeted choice. The club has found an excellent person in terms of human qualities. I’m very happy in Cagliari. I love the sea, and I’ve been playing in coastal cities for years.”
