Barcelona Coach Xavi Comments on Victory Against Sevilla
Barcelona head coach Xavi Hernandez shared his thoughts on the team’s impressive 4-1 victory over Sevilla in the 23rd round of La Liga.
“We played well in the first half and fought hard in the second. Sevilla has quick players on the wings, but we managed to contain them effectively. We remained patient throughout the match,” Xavi stated.
Addressing concerns about Ronald Araujo’s condition, Xavi said, “Araujo will undergo a medical examination tomorrow. We hope it’s nothing serious.”
Regarding Fermin Lopez’s performance and subsequent red card, Xavi commented, “Fermin scored a crucial goal before being sent off. These things happen, and it’s a valuable lesson for the future.”
Xavi also emphasized Barcelona’s position in the league, saying, “There are 3-5 very strong teams in La Liga, and we are certainly among them.”
The match saw Fermin Lopez receive a red card in the 60th minute when the score was 3-1 in Barcelona’s favor.
Following this victory, Barcelona now sits in third place with 48 points, just two points behind league leaders Real Madrid and one point behind second-placed Atletico Madrid. Sevilla remains in 13th place with 28 points.
