Barcelona Eyeing Jonathan Tah as Christensen’s Replacement
Barcelona is reportedly looking to part ways with Danish defender Andreas Christensen this summer, despite his contract running until June 30, 2026. The Catalan club is keen on showcasing Christensen’s abilities to potential buyers by ensuring he gets some playing time before the end of the season, following his extended absence due to injuries.
The Spanish giants have identified Bayer Leverkusen’s center-back Jonathan Tah as a potential replacement for the 28-year-old Christensen. Barcelona plans to pursue the German defender during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Christensen has been sidelined since early August 2024 with a left Achilles tendon injury, limiting him to just one appearance this season. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value stands at 15 million euros.
Barcelona’s decision to seek a replacement for Christensen comes as part of their ongoing efforts to strengthen their defensive line and adapt to the challenges posed by injuries and competition in both domestic and European tournaments.
