Barcelona Players Affected by Olmo and Victor Registration Issues, Says Raphinha
Barcelona midfielder Raphinha has opened up about how the ongoing registration issues of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor are affecting the team’s morale. The Brazilian player acknowledged that the situation is indeed having an impact on the squad.
“Only those directly involved can truly express what they’re feeling,” Raphinha stated. “We need to wait and see how things unfold. The club is committed to resolving this as quickly as possible, but it’s a complex situation.”
When asked if the registration problems were affecting the players, Raphinha was candid: “Yes, I can’t say no. I’d be lying, and I don’t like to lie. If I were at another club and saw what’s happening with Pau and Dani, I might think twice about joining Barcelona. However, I was aware of the club’s situation when I made my move here.”
The registration issues came to light on January 4th when La Liga and the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) denied Barcelona’s request to register Olmo and Victor. As a result, both players are currently ineligible to participate in matches for the second half of the 2024/25 season.
This situation highlights the ongoing financial challenges faced by Barcelona and raises questions about the club’s ability to manage its roster effectively. It also serves as a cautionary tale for potential transfers, as players may now consider these complications before deciding to join the Catalan giants.
