Barcelona’s Appeal Rejected: Match Against Osasuna Set for March 27

The Spanish Football Federation’s Appeals Committee has upheld the decision to schedule the Barcelona vs Osasuna match for March 27, despite both clubs’ efforts to change the date. This ruling puts an end to the ongoing debate about the fixture’s timing.

Initially postponed due to the tragic passing of Barcelona’s team doctor, Carles Miñarro, the match was later rescheduled by La Liga for March 27. Both Barcelona and Osasuna expressed dissatisfaction with this new date and filed appeals to have it changed.

However, the Appeals Committee has now officially rejected these requests, stating in their resolution: “On March 17, 2025, the Single Judge of Professional Competitions issued the appealed decision, setting the new date for the postponed match on March 27, 2025, at a time to be determined by the LNFP (National Professional Football League).”

This decision effectively ends any further discussion on the matter, and both teams will now have to prepare for the midweek fixture at the Montjuïc Olympic Stadium. The match, which is part of the La Liga schedule, will proceed as planned despite the clubs’ preferences for an alternative date.
