Barcelona’s Christensen Sidelined with Calf Injury
Barcelona’s Danish defender Andreas Christensen has suffered a setback in his return to action. The club’s official website reported that Christensen sustained a calf injury during a training session, forcing him to the sidelines once again.
The 28-year-old had only recently rejoined the team after a five-month absence. Unfortunately, during Monday’s training, Christensen injured his right calf muscle. Initial assessments suggest he will require approximately three weeks for rehabilitation.
This injury comes as a blow to both the player and the team, as Christensen had limited playing time this season. He had participated in just one match for Barcelona, coming on as a substitute and playing for 26 minutes.
The club’s medical staff will closely monitor Christensen’s recovery progress, hoping for a swift return to full fitness. Barcelona will need to adjust their defensive lineup in the meantime, relying on other squad members to fill the gap left by the Danish international.
