Baroni: Lazio Remain Optimistic Despite Setbacks

Lazio manager Marco Baroni remains positive about his team`s performance and Champions League prospects, even after a 2-2 draw with Inter Milan left them in sixth place. Baroni, who was sent off along with Inter coach Simone Inzaghi late in the match, expressed no regrets about the season.

“I apologize for the red cards given to both myself and Inzaghi,” Baroni stated in the post-match press conference. “He`s an exceptional coach achieving remarkable things. We ended up watching the rest of the game together after being dismissed.”

Lazio`s European Aspirations Still Alive

Despite being two points behind Juventus with one game remaining, Baroni insists Lazio have given their all this season. “We still have a match to play, and it doesn`t diminish what the team has accomplished,” he emphasized. “I commended the players for their performance against a formidable Inter side.”

Baroni defended his tactical approach, saying, “I remain committed to my football philosophy. I`m grateful for this opportunity and continue to give my utmost effort. This league is extremely competitive, but we`ll keep believing until the final whistle.”

Pedro`s Crucial Contribution

The Lazio coach also praised veteran forward Pedro for his impact on the team. “Pedro had been somewhat sidelined, but I brought him back into the fold because he`s a model professional who always gives 100%,” Baroni explained. “Despite a minor tendon issue, he understood his role might be limited to a substitute appearance. That`s the mark of a true leader.”
