Baroni: “We Didn’t Set Our Rhythm, But It’s a Growth Process. A Valuable Point”

Lazio coach Marco Baroni spoke to Sky Sport about the 1-1 draw in the home game against Udinese.

Balanced Match

“The team played against a strong team that is physically fit and runs a lot. It was a balanced game. We could have been a bit more clinical in attack, but the team showed great physical and mental resilience. We need to play these close matches like this,” Baroni stated.

Need to Support Young Players

“They are young players, they need support and help. It’s clear that Dia, for various reasons, has played a lot of games. We have had important players returning from injury and we look forward to having everyone available. It’s not easy to arrive at Lazio and make this step up. We just need to support them.”

Rhythm Was Missing

“We didn’t manage to impose our rhythm. However, I liked the team because they were coming from a cup match where they had to adapt to a game not suited to our characteristics.”

Valuable Point

“I told the guys this. The team showed resilience, and matches are also like this. I am pleased with the disappointment because it means we are not content, but we knew it would be a complicated match. Udinese’s goalkeeper made an incredible save on Zaccagni’s shot. Our journey is about growth, and I see progress. It’s a valuable point.”
