Bavarian Academy Player Kaishvili Approached by Georgian National Team

Jamal Kaishvili, a Russian footballer training at Bayern Munich’s academy, has disclosed that he was contacted by the Georgian Football Federation regarding the possibility of representing their national team.

When asked about his options for national team representation, which include Germany, Georgia, and Russia, Kaishvili stated, “I was approached by the Georgian national team. However, they cannot provide me with a passport yet, as I need to obtain Russian citizenship first, given that I was born in Russia.”

The 16-year-old Kaishvili has been part of Bayern Munich’s academy since 2017. He is currently playing for the club’s U-17 team this season.

The young talent’s situation highlights the complex nature of international football eligibility, especially for players with diverse cultural backgrounds or those developing their skills in foreign academies.
