Bayer Leverkusen Defender Hermoso Sidelined for Rest of Season

Bayer Leverkusen has announced that their on-loan defender Mario Hermoso will not feature in any more matches this season. The 29-year-old Spanish player, who joined the German club on loan from AS Roma in January, has been ruled out due to injury.

Hermoso sustained the injury during Leverkusen’s Champions League Round of 16 second leg match against Bayern Munich, which ended in a 2-0 defeat for his team. Following the incident, the defender underwent surgery in Madrid on March 18th.

Since joining Bayer Leverkusen earlier this year, Hermoso has made seven appearances for the club. However, he has yet to record any goals or assists during his time with the team. The injury setback means that Leverkusen will have to finish the season without the services of the experienced defender.
