Manchester City were active in the January transfer window, unusually spending significantly mid-season under Pep Guardiola. Following the summer acquisitions of Savinho and the return of Ilkay Gundogan, City added five more players in winter, headlined by the arrival of striker Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt.

Securing deals for three young defenders, City’s focus is already shifting towards the 2025/26 season, especially with them trailing in the title race and out of the Champions League contention.
Guardiola still has the FA Cup to compete for and is considering further signings, with recent speculation linking them to Bayern Munich’s winger Michael Olise.
Departures are also anticipated, with Kevin de Bruyne’s contract nearing its end and strong links to a move to MLS club San Diego FC. Besides De Bruyne, another significant player might be leaving based on recent reports.
Bernardo Silva Agrees Personal Terms with PSG
According to Spanish reports, Bernardo Silva is expected to leave Man City after the current season, with Paris Saint-Germain as the most probable destination. It is suggested that Silva has already come to a personal agreement with PSG, who view the versatile and skilled attacking midfielder as an ideal addition to Luis Enrique’s tactical setup.
While City and Guardiola are open to Silva’s exit, they have set an asking price of €50 million (£41.5 million). The 30-year-old, who joined the club in 2017, earns £300,000 per week and has won 17 trophies with Man City, including six Premier League titles.
Bernardo Silva has been highly praised throughout his Man City tenure. Pep Guardiola remarked in late 2023: ‘I could speak for ten minutes about Bernardo Silva’s importance to me and the team. He’s exceptionally good in every aspect – commitment, intelligence, understanding of the game. We admire him greatly.’
