AC Milan`s Brazilian right-back Emerson Royal appears to be on the verge of leaving the club after just one season. Turkish side Besiktas is reportedly in the final stages of negotiating a deal with the Italian giants for the 26-year-old defender.
Sources in Turkey have confirmed that Besiktas is close to reaching an agreement with Milan for Emerson Royal. The Brazilian fullback has failed to live up to expectations since his €17 million transfer from Tottenham Hotspur last summer. After missing a significant portion of the latter half of the 2024-25 season, it seems Emerson`s time at San Siro is coming to an end.
Emerson is reportedly close to agreeing personal terms with Besiktas, now managed by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. If all parties come to an agreement, the player could arrive in Istanbul within the next few days to complete the move.
The proposed transfer is expected to be a loan deal with an option for Besiktas to make the move permanent at a later date. This arrangement would allow Milan to offload a player who has not met expectations while giving Emerson an opportunity to revitalize his career in Turkey.
For Besiktas, the addition of Emerson Royal could provide a significant boost to their defensive options as they look to compete in both domestic and European competitions in the upcoming season.
