There are suggestions for Tottenham Hotspur to consider replacing their current manager, Ange Postecoglou. A former Spurs boss, described as ‘special’, has been mentioned as a potential candidate in a surprising move for chairman Daniel Levy.
Spurs Evaluating Options for Managerial Change
While Postecoglou is preparing Tottenham for a crucial Europa League match against AZ Alkmaar, which is vital for their season, it is reported that Spurs are exploring possible replacements for him.
Tottenham’s interest in a new manager is not recent. Reports indicate that the club had already compiled a list of potential successors to Postecoglou back in January.
Among the managers reportedly being considered by Tottenham are Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola, former Borussia Dortmund coach Edin Terzić, Inter Milan’s Simone Inzaghi, and Brentford’s Thomas Frank. These names have all been cited as possible targets.
Call to Replace Postecoglou with Harry Redknapp
A pundit from talkSPORT, Majestic, has proposed that Tottenham should consider re-appointing their former manager Harry Redknapp to take over from Postecoglou.
Harry Redknapp, who is 78 and retired from coaching after a period with Birmingham City in 2017, is suggested by Majestic as the person Tottenham should bring back to replace Postecoglou.
During a live broadcast, the pundit stated that for Tottenham to progress, especially with the likely absence of European football next season unless they win the Europa League, a change is needed.
He questioned Postecoglou’s ability to inspire the team and create unity, suggesting that Tottenham should ‘get rid of him’ and bring back Harry Redknapp for ‘one last hurrah’.
Harry Redknapp is remembered fondly by Tottenham fans for his previous tenure from 2008 to 2012, during which he led the team to the Champions League quarter-finals.
He was also highly regarded by players within the Tottenham squad, including former midfielder Rafael van der Vaart.
Rafael van der Vaart praised Redknapp’s approach, highlighting the absence of tedious tactical discussions, unlike his experience at Real Madrid. He mentioned Redknapp’s simple, player-focused management style.
