Bologna Defeats Milan 1-0 to Claim Coppa Italia Trophy

Bologna has emerged victorious in the Coppa Italia final, defeating Milan 1-0 to secure their third title in the competition`s history. This triumph marks the end of a 51-year drought for the Rossoblu, who last won the trophy in 1974.

The match, held at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, saw Bologna capitalize on a single goal from Dan Ndoye in the 53rd minute. This victory not only brings silverware to the club but also guarantees their qualification for the Europa League next season.

Milan, who last won the Coppa Italia in 2003, struggled to find their rhythm throughout the match. Despite having more possession, the Rossoneri failed to convert their chances, with only two shots on target compared to Bologna`s five.

Key moments in the game included a crucial save by Bologna goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski in the first half, denying both Alex Jimenez and Luka Jovic from close range. Milan`s Mike Maignan also made important interventions, including a save from Santiago Castro`s glancing header.

The decisive goal came early in the second half when Riccardo Orsolini`s attempt was blocked by Theo Hernandez, only for the ball to fall to Ndoye who fired home from 11 yards out.

Milan`s attempts to equalize proved futile, with substitutes Santiago Gimenez and Joao Felix both missing opportunities late in the game. The result extends Milan`s unfortunate record as the club with the most runner-up finishes in the Coppa Italia, this being their ninth second-place finish in 14 final appearances.

For Bologna, this victory represents a significant milestone in their recent resurgence and provides a fitting reward for their impressive performances throughout the season.
