AC Milan`s pursuit of Bologna midfielder Giovanni Fabbian has hit a roadblock as the Rossoblu have made it clear that the player is not for sale.
Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri has been keen to add a box-to-box midfielder to his squad before the summer transfer window closes. Sources close to the matter reveal that the Rossoneri made inquiries about Fabbian this morning.
Bologna Stands Firm on Fabbian
However, Bologna has firmly shut the door on any potential transfer. The club considers Fabbian, a product of Inter Milan`s youth academy, an integral part of their plans and has no intention of letting him go.
Fabbian, 22, is in his third season at the Stadio Dall`Ara. He has impressed with 9 goals and 3 assists in 71 appearances across all competitions for Bologna.
Milan`s Midfield Overhaul
This summer has seen significant changes in Milan`s midfield. The club sold Tijjani Reijnders while bringing in experienced players like Luka Modric, as well as promising talents Ardon Jashari and Samuele Ricci.
Despite these reinforcements, Milan`s Serie A campaign got off to a rocky start with a surprising 2-1 home defeat to newly-promoted Cremonese on Saturday.
With Bologna refusing to part with Fabbian, Milan will likely need to explore other options to strengthen their midfield before the transfer window closes.
